Founded in 2009, the GRAMMY® Award-winning Akropolis Reed Quintet is “a sonically daring ensemble who specializes in performing new works with charisma and integrity” (BBC Music Magazine). Comprising five reed players and entrepreneurs unbounded by limits or categorization, Akropolis has graced the Classical Billboard Charts with each of their last three albums, including #2 in April, 2024, and has won seven national chamber music prizes including the 2014 Fischoff Gold Medal. The Akropolis Chamber Music Institute Moves to Interlochen

We are delighted to announce ACMI will now take place at Interlochen Center for the Arts, welcoming instrumentalists, composers, and pre-formed ensembles to make chamber music with Akropolis this summer!

Application Deadline ($35 application fee): February 1, 2026
Scholarship Application Due: February 5, 2026
Notification of Acceptance: March 1, 2026
Festival Dates: June 6 - 14 including travel 

 

We Won A GRAMMY®!

We are so proud to announce that we have won a GRAMMY® Award for the track “Strands” with the incredible Pascal Le Boeuf and Christian Euman! This is a dream come true for Akropolis, and we’re deeply humbled to be the first reed quintet in history to win a GRAMMY®!
