Akropolis is popping back up for a spontaneous concert on the best bike path in Detroit on August 15 at 1 pm! Join Akropolis at the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard —a food and beverage meets pop-up retail space along the former Grand Trunk Railroad line-turned-bike path. This pop-up show is designed so people can bike up to Dequindre Cut Freight Yard, just outside of the iconic Eastern Market, and gather together to enjoy inventive and interactive public art, music, drinks, and the beautiful greenway.

The Detroit-based Akropolis Reed Quintet will perform selections from their recently released 4th album, Ghost Light, which graced the Billboard Charts for Classical Music, along with popular works from their recent touring calendar. Akropolis was founded in 2009 at the University of Michigan, has won 7 national chamber music prizes, and operates a full-time nonprofit organization, presenting concerts and community engagement events nationwide.

This concert is in partnership with the Detroit Riverfront Conservancy who manages the Dequindre Cut Freight Yard.
