This piece was composed by Cass Technical High School senior Kailah Arnold as a part of Akropolis’ annual residency at 3 Detroit high schools. Throughout the year, Akropolis works with the music students at each of these schools, teaching them about composition and the joys of performing chamber music. This residency ends each June in conjunction with Akropolis’ Together We Sound festival and results in the world premiere Akropolis performance and recording of 10-15 student compositions.

In lieu of being able to physically premiere these student compositions during our festival due to Covid-19, Akropolis is excited to be releasing split-screen video premieres of these incredible student works throughout the summer. Congratulations to Kailah for all her hard work on this composition this year!
